Hafen - Dallin Volunteer Guild
Museum Member & Volunteer Spring Brunch
Hawaiian Style!
On Wednesday 14 May at 11:30am the Springville Museum of Art celebrated its Members and Volunteers “island style” at the Annual Member & Volunteer Spring Recruitment Brunch. All current and potential Museum members and volunteers were invited to attend. This year’s theme was a Polynesian Luau complete with palm trees, leis, dancing and a fabulous luncheon provided by BYU Catering.
Board of Trustees President, Dave Cook, gave an update on SMA Association activities for 2007, as well as announcing the new me mbers elected to the Association Board of Trustees, followed by a set of two Polynesian dances performed by former art royalty member Kayla Weisler.
The special guest speaker was Utah artist Edie Roberson. Roberson’s work has been displayed at several of the Museum’s Spring Salons, to great success. To see Edie Roberson’s work visit the David Erickson Gallery in Salt Lake, or edieroberson.com.
The event was followed by a brief highlights tour of the Spring Salon; a great way to wrap up a great event.
The Hafen-Dallin Volunteer Guild: The mission of the Hafen-Dallin Volunteer Guild is to provide trained and competent volunteers to serve and enhance the activities and programs of the SMA and its patrons, and support the Mission of the Museum through fundraising efforts. The Hafen-Dallin Board is made up of a group of dynamic and hard-working community members who serve in various capacities. All SMA volunteers are part of the Hafen-Dallin volunteer Guild. Activities range from Bi-Annual Recruitment Brunches, fundraisers, trips to local galleries, to international art adventures.
SMA Volunteer Program Mission Statement: The Springville Museum of Art highly respects and values our volunteers for the time, talent and spirit they contribute to the Museum, and recognize the crucial role they play in connecting us to our community. We commit to provide meaningful opportunities for service, and render support to our volunteers as they assist us in fulfilling our mission to refine minds and build character through the fine arts.
