Volunteer Valuation & Mission Statement
The Springville Museum of Art highly respects and values our volunteers for the time, talent and spirit they contribute to the Museum, and recognize the crucial role they play in connecting us to our community. We commit to provide meaningful opportunities for service, and render support to our volunteers as they assist us in fulfilling our mission to refine minds and build character through the fine arts.
Internship openings for Fall & Winter Semesters
Would you like to gain great job experience in a dynamic and beautiful setting? Volunteer at Utah's first art museum, dedicated in 1937 as a "sanctuary of beauty and temple of contemplation." Our collection is composed of Utah, Russian and American art. Volunteer opportunities range from Curatorial, Art Education, Communications and Operations Internships, to helping with public programs, event planning, graphic design, giving tours, writing and more. | Desk Volunteers |
Serve as the public interface for the Museum; answering phones, assisting patrons with questions and purchases, acting as front-line security, and assisting staff as needed. |

| Docents |
Conduct tours for Museum patrons. Receive training on temporary exhibitions, the permanent collection, historical background of the Museum, and effective teaching methods. |
| |
| Intern Program |
Volunteer adjunct staff members who are professionally oriented toward museum work, with a focus in Curatorial, Education or Operations areas. |

| Reserve & Special Events |
Substitute for desk volunteers, and/or assist with exhibitions, programs, and special events as needed. |

| Art Royalty |
A SMA tradition since 1907, this group performs and assists with special events, programs, and various Museum needs. |
| |
| Junior Art Guild |
Open to individuals ages 14-19, this groups assists with programs and events at the Museum, visits artist studios, and participates in various educational and social events. |
